How Express Entry Works

Create Your Profile

Submit an Express Entry profile with your qualifications and details:

  • • Education credentials and assessments
  • • Work experience and language test results
  • • Settlement plans and other relevant information

Enter the Pool

Your profile enters the Express Entry pool:

  • • Your CRS score is calculated automatically
  • • You compete with other candidates in the pool
  • • Higher scores = better ranking
  • • Profile remains valid for 12 months

Receive ITA

If selected in a draw, receive Invitation to Apply:

  • • Draws happen approximately every 2 weeks
  • • Minimum CRS score varies by draw
  • • ITAs are valid for 60 days
  • • Apply immediately after receiving ITA

Submit Application

Complete your permanent residency application:

  • • Gather all required documents
  • • Submit application within 60 days
  • • Pay processing fees
  • • Attend biometrics appointment if required
